What we do
At Aqua Dive our experienced and passionate instructors conduct PADI training from DSD up to Divemaster level and a range of specialties and events to enhance your dive skills and ocean awareness. Our Divemaster training is a unique programme with a conservation mindset, including coral restoration training, clean up dives, fish abundance surveys, coral health surveys and more.
Dedicated to eco tourism, our tours and courses are designed to ensure that we make the most of the amazing ocean life the Maldives has to offer, without having any negative effect on this fragile environment. You will never find single use plastics in our dive centre or on our tours and we are committed to sustainability throughout our operation - as shown in our Green Fins membership. Our philosophy is simple, if we can leave an area better than how we found it then thats what we do.
Experienced divers can join us for fun shore and boat dives around the beautiful Lhaviyani Atoll, where we are fortunate to have a array of world-class dive sites, from megafauna cleaning stations and pristine coral reefs to exploring wrecks and exhilarating channel dives.
Not a diver? Join us for snorkel excursions, dolphin watching trips and seasonal Manta excursions to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Hanifaru Bay, or partake in water sports activities right of the shore from our beach-side centre. Contact our friendly staff for more information.
Conservation Training
Working closely with the local NGO, Atoll Marine Centre, and their on-site Marine Biologists we specialise in Coral Reef Restoration and Conservation training. A Reef Guru partner facility, we teach the practical sessions for both the Restoration Diver and Conservation Diver courses as well as a 2-4 week Coral Restoration Volunteer Program with Atoll Volunteers.
We also offer the full range of PADI AWARE courses: PADI AWARE Specialist, Dive Against Debris, Shark Conservation, Coral Reef Conservation, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Fish ID - which we teach using the REEF (Reef Environmental Education Foundation) curriculum - as well as training for the CoralWatch Coral Health Chart specialty, Whale Shark Awareness and our distinctive Sea Turtle Awareness specialty. Plus a unique, conservation-orientated, Divemaster Internship too.
Naifaru
We are situated in Naifaru, the fifth most populated island in the Maldives, at around 5,000 residents, and the main hub of Lhaviyani Atoll. A bustling little community, Naifaru has many stores from hardware to general goods, souvenirs and tailoring services. There is also a post office, two ATM’s, restaurants, coffee shops, pharmacies, a gym and the atolls main hospital here. The town is usually bustling with people playing card games, chatting on the many joalis (chairs) dotted around, enjoying the beaches or playing volleyball, football or badminton. Throughout the year there are many local events as well as Lhaviyani’s Turtle Festival, which is ran by Atoll Marine Centre.
At approximately 53 hectors, Naifaru is a very walkable place, taking around 10-15 minutes to walk from east - west and 20-25 minutes from south-north. The island is surrounded by beautiful reefs, suitable for both diving and snorkelling and also hosts a hotel, One The Island, which ideal for travellers. A vibrant island, Naifaru prides itself on being a very safe and welcoming community.
We are proud to be a PADI Eco Centre, actively promoting marine biodiversity and community resilience by addressing our ocean’s global challenges.
We are dedicated to engaging in direct conservation action including citizen science, policy advocacy, and education and work hard to reduce the environmental footprint of our operations, embedding sustainability as a core business value.
