Coral Garden Updates

This week was a little different in our coral garden. We started the week by removing corals that had grown on Atoll Marine Centre’s Floating Marine Centre. The nets are being replaced and these coral recruits have grown big enough to be transported to the garden where they can continue to grow for years to come, restoring this degraded part of our house reef.

It was a little tricky removing corals from the floating and flexible structure but with help from the Atoll Marine Centre team we managed to save over 60 corals which would have otherwise been lost.

We then attached each fragment to the frames in our garden, which has also added even more coral diversity.
