Family Volunteering in the Maldives

Last week our partners at Atoll Marine Centre and One The Island were joined by 6 wonderful families to learn about marine conservation, sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation and participate in workshops and presentations about our incredible underwater environment. Each afternoon we went on an excursion, experiencing more of the Maldives and Lhaviyani atoll.

From snorkelling the outer reefs, visiting uninhabited islands and sandbanks, swimming with sharks, manta rays and turtles, learning about the fishing culture of the Maldives and sustainable fishing practices at Felivaru and practicing our best dives and jumps from the boat. It was an absolute pleasure to look after these families and share our favourite spots with them!

If your family wants to come volunteer in paradise get in touch with One The Island.
