April Dive Against Debris Counts

Due to stormy weather we only ran two Dive Against Debris events in April (but don’t worry, we promise to make up for it!).

On April 11th our partners from Atoll Marine Centre and Atoll Volunteers joined us in removing 30.6kg of rubbish from our reef patch while on April 25th we cleaned a different part of our house reef, closer to the harbour, which we spotted on a recent Crown of Thorns snorkel survey (see the before and after for this reef section in the photos!) where we removed 47.3kg mostly made up of cement bags, plastic bottles and PVC piping as well as fishing lines.

The total trash we removed from our ocean in April was 77.9kg making our total for the 19 events we have ran so far 698.8kg!
